GENERAL CONDITIONS

For bookings of a language course through the TANDEM Shop the present terms of conditions are valid for all TANDEM schools.

The TANDEM school receiving the booking is the organiser of the language course. TANDEM International as an association is not responsible for the courses sold by the schools through the TANDEM shop.

Booking Procedure

1. For the booking choose a course & accommodation package and complete the booking procedure. Please note, that most TANDEM schools do not include the enrollment fee in their special offers. This fee has to be paid on the first course day.
2. With your booking, the full amount of the fees (course & accommodation) must be paid in advance. You can pay with credit card (VISA and MasterCard). TANDEM Shop works with the Deutsche Postbank PaySolution service for online credit card payments. The Deutsche Postbank Group is one of Germany's major financial services providers, with over 100 years in the business, which guarantees total security on all your language course purchases through TANDEM Shop.
3. After we have received your booking in TANDEM Shop, you will receive a confirmation of your reservation by e-mail, including an invoice of the total amount of course and accommodation for your records. After that, the corresponding TANDEM School will send you by email in the following days the course information, the accommodation address and useful details about your journey.

Cancellation

1. Cancellations prior to the participants' arrival must be given to the school in writing (i.e. in the form of a letter, fax or e-mail).
2. For cancellations reaching the school prior to arrival, a cancellation fee of 120.00 € (Europe) or 175.00 US$ (Canada / Chile) will be charged. The rest of the amount of course & accommodation fees will be reimbursed.
3. Fees for course and accommodation will under no circumstances be repaid if the language course has already started.

Courses

1. The minimum age for participation in our adult courses is generally 16 years. Students younger than 18 years need written authorization from their parents. Personal liability insurance: All TANDEM schools are insured against accidents and mishaps in the TANDEM school building. TANDEM schools accept no responsibility for any accidents that may occur outside of the schools, nor for loss or theft of personal property on the permises or at the accommodations. We recommend getting insurance for these eventualities.
2. There is no tuition on public holidays. Teaching hours missed by participants will as a general rule neither be given on a later day nor reimbursed for. We reserve the right to make changes to the programme.
3. In case of not reaching the minimum number of bookings for a course, the number of hours booked may be reduced in agreement between the school and the participants. All people with a booking will be informed of an offer to that effect in good time prior to the start of the course.

Accommodations

1. Participants will be charged for repair or repurchase of objects wilfully or accidentally damaged.
2. If accommodations that were booked should not be available, the school may replace these in agreement with the participants for other types of accommodation for similar fees.

Insurance

Health Insurance: We recommend that all EU nationals carry with them the document E111 / the European Medical Insurance Card. If medical treatment is required the costs involved may be reimbursed in your home country when a receipt is supplied. We recommend that participants from other countries purchase health insurance that guarantees to cover all costs for necessary treatment. Travel insurance can be obtained through the school, if required.

VISA

It is the participants' responsibility to make sure whether they need a visa to enter the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada or Chile. If this is the case, the participants have to make all enquiries on behalf of receiving a VISA with the appropriate embassy or consulate. The certificate for the VISA that has to be shown at the embassy in question can only be issued by the TANDEM school when a formal booking has been made and after the full amount of the course fees has been paid.

Acceptance or Exclusion

1. Participants will be charged for all cases of third party damages or infringements that lead to requests for reimbursement by the school. This will not give participants the right to later issue requests to the same effect.
2. Neither TANDEM International as the umbrella organisation nor its member schools assume responsibility for cases of acts of God or for the participants' behaviour.

Data Security

With the students' consent, their data are processed electronically. Personal data will only be used for administrative requirements and will at no time be passed on to third parties.
